Once a week I treat my face and overly processed hair to an organic reviving and nourishing mask. I usually use the same mask for both my hair and face because the components I use have an amazing effect on both and also it saves me time. These masks are so rich in nutrients yet they cost me close to nothing as I usually use ingredients that I already have in my kitchen.
- Protein Mask: This Protein rich mask will nourish your hair and skin cells instantly and you will feel the difference from the first try. The antioxidants in honey and cinnamon will clear your hair & skin from all impurities and will also nourish and strengthen your hair and soften your skin. P.s. This mask is great for those who want to grow their hair.
You will need 2tbsp. of organic protein powder (yes, the one you use in your healthy protein shakes), 1 organic egg yolk, 2tbsp. of organic yogurt, 2 tbsp. of olive oil, ½ tbsp. of cinnamon, 2 tbsp. of honey, and 2 tbsp. of water. Mix all the ingredients together. Save a tbsp. of the mixture in a different bowl for your face. Using a brush or your hands, apply the mixture to hair first starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots. Wrap your hair with plastic foil or wear a shower cap. Apply mixture to face and wait 15 to 20 minutes before you wash.
- Vitamin E Mask: This Vitamin E rich mask will nourish your hair and skin and will keep your skin young and plump.
You will need 1 ripe avocado, 2 tbsp. of organic vitamin E oil, and 2 tbsp. of organic Argan oil. Mix the pulp of a ripe avocado with the oils until they get smooth and creamy. Massage the rest on your face. Let it set for 15 to 20 minutes before you shower.
- Refreshing cucumber Mask: This is best on hot summer days and it will leave your hair and skin clean, fresh and healthy.
You will need the juice of one cucumber, few mint leaves, 2 tbsp. of lemon juice, and 2 tbsp. of raw organic honey. Mix all the ingredients together. Separate the portion for your face in a different container. Use a brush to apply this wonderful and refreshing mask to your hair and roots. Wrap your hair with plastic foil or tuck it under a shower cap. Rub the face portion on. I usually use my fingers to massage the mixture to my face but you can also use a brush.
